I hosted and co produced the Across Her Table podcast. The podcast featured Canadian Muslim women with immigrant roots and how they are enriching the social fabric in the country. Some of my guests included renowned names like Amira Elghawaby, Rabia Khedr, Uzma Jalaluddin, Ginella Massa, Asma Hussain, MP Iqra Khalid and more. I hosted it from 2020 to 2022, running for 3 seasons with over 40 guests and many cross collaborations with other podcasters.

An interview-based podcast where I, Mifrah Abid, talk to remarkable Canadian 🍁 women with immigrant roots and how they are enriching the social narrative in Canada.
Join me to hear in-depth conversations with these inspiring women who have stories to tell, values to share and so much to give to their communities.
Also… Season 3 is here! So make sure you subscribe to us on Apple, Spotify, Amazon apps or wherever to get episode notifications!!
This podcast was conceptualized with my very geeky husband Javed Shaikh, over several cups of chai and the constant din of two yelling children.
Episode Notes :
Today I speak with an individual that I have been listening to and learning from for a while now, Mifrah Abid. Mifrah is an activist, advocate of racial equity, and the creator, producer and host of Across Her Table Podcast.
In this episode, Mifrah challenges my beliefs on home and identity (and if there is one thing I love, it’s a conversation that expands my thinking). We discuss our thoughts on nationalism and Mirfah explains the concept of jingoism and how it relates to us now. This is such an important conversation for us to be having; I cannot wait for you to listen to and learn from the stories the Mifrah shares.
